Life Isnt Like the Movies: How to Deal with Real Life Situations in Love, Money and Relationships
from:Going by what Oscar Wilde once said, Life imitates art, perhaps, many people behave and live in imitation of their favorite movie characters and consequently get themselves into trouble or feel obliged to embrace avoidable sorrow or indulge in self-deception that they are doing the right thing. Real life situations are a world apart from reel life situations, although many situations depicted in good movies appear to be quite realistic and impressive. It is the skill of the scriptwriter, the expertise of the director and the cinematographer as well as the actors skillful portrayal of the various roles in the movie in a combined effect that makes you believe that the illusion presented in the movie is a reality. Movies are meant to provide merely a means of entertainment, but they have grown to influence life to such an extent that not only movies are based on real life, but real life incidents are modeled on movies.
Although movies blind us to the reality of situations we must understand that real life situations are too complex to base your responses to them on fictitious circumstances in movies. For example, you could only be faking love if you think you could imitate on-screen love. Love is no love if it is not sincere or true, and true love does not allow imitation. You must honestly examine your feelings towards the person you love and be wary of expressing feelings that you have borrowed from the big screen. If you do not, your love will not last and you will no doubt suffer a broken heart. The love and happiness that you crave for in your life will be yours, provided your reactions to the people and the circumstances that surround you spring from the innermost part of your heart, not inspired by some movie character.
Similarly, if you wish for tons of money, you cant get it by following the get-rich-quick examples presented in movies. Unless you are lucky enough to hit the jackpot, there is no way other than hard work along with strong business sense to earn money. Movies generally take you into a world of dreams and heavenly luxuries or let you travel to distant lands or planets in fancy cars and planes, which are beyond the affordability range of us mere mortals. Always remember to view movies as entertainment and not as a reminder of your plight in life. Even if you are well off, movie watching can make you feel inadequate and depressed for lack of money. Although money is undoubtedly essential to lead a happy and comfortable life its important to remember that the grass is not always greener on the other side. Wanting more money is not a bad thing, wanting more money until it affects your happiness and well-being is.
Love and money, sex and violence, are shown in their extremes, graphically depicted in movies. Lust for any of these things is created by specific choice in language, special camera angles and special effects. Just remember that life is not like the movies after all.
