Personal Success: If You’re Normal, You’re Crazy

Decades of research in the field of psychology shows that normal people are not in control of their subconscious mind – the part of your mind that creates your reality – instead, the normal subconscious calls the shots! If there was ever a definition of lunacy, that’s it! If you consider yourself to be normal, that’s nothing to be proud of – and hanging around with other normal people will get you nowhere. OK, you might think that it’s cool to be accepted, to be one of the gang, but you’re doing yourself no favours. You’ll never be abnormally successful – real and true success is abnormal, by the way – there’s no way that you’ll “live the dream”.

Almost seventy percent of normal people don’t like their jobs – but they do them! There’s a consistent and alarming growth in the number of husbands, wives or partners who are in abusive relationships, but they stay in them! And the number of people who hide in the virtual world of FaceBook or SecondLife each day is growing each day – don’t they know that they can change their life in the real world, for real.

If you want to change your life, you’re going to have to grab a hold of your own inner power. To do that, you’re going to have to use your mind in a very abnormal way. Whereas the normal subconscious is focused on – even entertained by – memorable events from your childhood (which are clearly of little use to what’s happening today but which, nevertheless, are used by your subconscious as a basis for today’s behaviour) you’re going to have to learn how to pay attention to what’s really happening before your very eyes, right here, right now.

Easier done that said! Yeah, you read that right – because, we all know how to pay attention to reality, we experts when we were children, we’ve just forgotten. You’ve got to spend a few minutes each day re-training our mind to pay attention to our five senses. Why not each day this way – after all, you wouldn’t leave your home undressed, why leave your home mentally unprepared for the day ahead. Something as simple as sitting down for five to ten minutes with your eyes closed will start the ball rolling. Close your eyes and pay attention to what you hear – it sounds louder, you’ll hear things that you haven’t heard before. Nothing has changed, of course, except that you’re paying attention.

Your potential for happiness and success – I mean really and truly successful and happy – is related to how well you pay attention. Everyone can do it – all it takes is a little commitment. Believe you me, it will make a world of difference. Oh, and while we’re talking about a world of difference, the less you hang out with normal crazy people who love talking about the recession or who has what illness, the better – you’d be better off listening to the birds singing.
